Happy Mondays, especially first thing in the morning, are few and far between, and this past Monday started on the same path.  I woke in my usual cranky mood, coffee in hand, checking email at 6 am, when I saw a message from fellow blogger Anne of Zen and Genki announcing that she had nominated Paula’s GlassRoots for the versatile blogger award!  Awesome!

I’ve seen this honor bestowed on a number of my favorite blogs, but never counted myself as a potential recipient.  I blog because it makes me happy, but having attracted an appreciative audience of any size is a wonderful added bonus.  So I’d like to extend a most humble and appreciative “thank you!” to Zen and Genki for inviting me into this most generous and talented group of bloggers, and for turning my Monday around!

 …

The Ground Rules!

Since I am new to all of this, I shall follow Anne’s lead and begin by stating the ground rules:

  •  Thank the person who gave me the award (Check!)
  •  Include a link to their blog (Check!)
  •  Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
  •  Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award and include a link to their site.

Sharing the Love!

Ahh, fun… paying it forward to 15 super talented bloggers (in no particular order) who have provided me with endless entertainment, information and eye candy!   Drum roll please….

About Me

And lastly, 7 tidbits about me?  Hmmm, digging up nuggets about myself that others may find interesting is a challenge.  So I thought back to the one page Q&A interviews I’ve seen in the weekend magazines decided to go with the useless information approach :o) Here we go…

1)  Useless talents?   I whistle better than Snow White or Billy Joel, and was once a fairly accomplished saxophone player

2) Favorite consumables?    Cheese and beer

3) Worthy causes?  We foster guinea pigs for a small animal rescue

4)  Day job?  Proposal manager (day, night, weekends)

5)  Favorite vacation spot?  Anywhere we can take the camper.

6)  Favorite quote?  Julia Child once said “if you mess up a recipe, don’t tell anyone, just give it a new name”.  Happy accidents are the best source of originality.

7) Favorite advice?  When you’re old and retired, you’re not going to look back and think “I wish I’d worked more”.   Enjoy life while you can.

There you go!  Happy Saturday!
